Club Mark
Clubmark - What it means.
Club Mark is a Sports England initiative.
Sport England Clubmark is used by national
governing bodies of sport (NGBs) as part of their club accreditation
programmes for sports clubs with junior sections in recognition of a quality
club. Sport England Clubmark is only awarded through national governing bodies
of sport, the ECB in the case of cricket. By creating a single, national
standard, Clubmark helps give all kinds of sports clubs with a junior section a
structure and direction that will benefit them in several ways:
Increases membership
Being able to demonstrate that the club has addressed issues such as equality
and child protection giving confidence to parents choosing a club for their
children.
Development
A foundation for its youth structure, by encouraging and attracting young members.
Developing Coaches and volunteers
Ensuring coaches & volunteers are trained to offer the best possible
coaching in a safe and effective manner.
Raising a club's profile
Once accredited, a club will be listed on the national database and in other
sporting directories that will help attract new members and grow.
