Child Welfare
Botany Bay Cricket Club, in accordance with Clubmark, have adopted the ECB 'Welfare
of Young People in Cricket Policy' called “Safe Hands” and have this policy
included in the club’s constitution.

Both officers have attended the mandatory courses.

Club Coaches, Team Managers and regular Club Umpires have had
CRB checks
Club Members under the age of 18 have to fill in a Parental
Consent Form. This relates to photography, video, changing
& showering (in Changing Rooms with over 18's present), and transported to
and from away matches.
The Club Welfare Officer’s Role
- First contact in club, for all members regarding child
welfare issue.
- Welfare Officer is to pass on any Child
Protection/Welfare concerns" to the County Welfare Officer Phil
Knappett. (The County Welfare Officer is accountable/responsible for
any further actions. This may require in forming the ECB Child Protection
Committee)
- Ensuring all Club Coaches, Colts Managers, Umpires and
Scorers are ECB approved, Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau checked.
- Keep Club Members Self Declaration forms in a safe.
- Ensure that the ECB 'Welfare Of Young People in Cricket
Policy' called “Safe Hands” is adopted and implemented.
